Competition Wall Rigs
Wall Mounted Rigs & Racks
If you are considering buying a Wall Mounted Rig for your gym or facility, then there are a few things to consider before you make your purchase. There are many different options, attachments and configurations available.
Rig Design
The first thing to decide on is what type of configuration or size of Rig you should buy? This will really depend on the space you have available, the height of your ceilings, your overall budget, how many clients you have at the moment and what you expect the numbers to grow to over the next 12 -18 months.
One of the great things with a Rig is that you can start small and add to it as your business grows, so you don’t need to over capitalise at the start. Also Wall Mounted Rig are very economical as they provide many workout options and setups for your clients and trainers. The other bonus is that you can use your existing walls to mount them on. Wall must be concrete or at least very solid brick. Rigs must be secured to a concrete floor and must never be bolted into wood or on top of rubber matting. They also need to be secured using high tensile Dyna Bolts to ensure they don’t come loose..
If you don’t have a lot of space then we can provide our range of Titanium USA™ Rigs with 1100 mm crossbeams that attach to the wall and the uprights instead of 1800 mm crossbeams that come standard with most of our rigs.
9ft or 12ft Rig Uprights?
The best layout will have a combination of both 9ft (2700mm) and 12ft (3600mm) uprights. These can be set up in a number of ways and we have provided many options for you on our website of Titanium USA™ Rigs. This will come down to personal preference and what types of rigs you have used in the past and find comfortable to use.
There is no real right or wrong way to configure them other than you should have cell spacing so they run 1100mm for the squat/bench press stations and 1800mm for the gym rings, TRX and Climbing rope stations.
Quality of Rigs
Ok, now this is the serious part to consider and you mustn’t compromise on this just because you want to save a few dollars or someone talks you into buying a rig that isn’t of high enough quality. This decision could potentially ruin your business and professional life. If you get a rig that doesn’t stand up to the abuse it may receive and someone gets hurt, then this could have drastic ramifications not only for you but more importantly your clients, as poor quality rigs can cause very serious injuries due to metal fatigue and failure.
Most rigs out there are just not up to scratch and shouldn’t be on the market.
The main things to consider are the uprights, J Hooks and Spotter arms. Rig uprights should never be less than 3 mm thick for any serious training facility. Most rigs are manufactured with 2mm thick steel to cut costs but this is a major safety hazard and 2mm thick steel should never be considered. This may not sound like much of a difference but the end result is massive. There is also the width or diameter of the rig uprights. Again most of the models on the market are 60mm, 65mm or at best 70mm. Our rigs are all constructed using 75mm tubing for maximum strength, safety and durability.
Thanks to our Wholesale Direct Buying Program you can now purchase our premium grade Titanium USA™ Rigs for less than what our competitors charge for their lower grade and potentially dangerous rigs. All of our rigs are suitable for any type of Crossfit® facility, gym, fitness centre or any other type of training centre that requires equipment for Crossfit® training.
